Privacy policy.
Effective Date: January 2026
This policy is a draft prepared to reflect general, publicly available summaries of the Colorado Privacy Act and applicable U.S. federal laws (including the FTC Act, CAN-SPAM Act, TCPA, and COPPA) as of the date noted above. Laws in this area change frequently. This document has not been reviewed by an attorney and should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before publication.
Overview
Vehicle Valuation Authority, LLC ("VVA," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information from visitors to our website, users of our social media pages, and prospective or current clients. This policy applies across all channels through which we interact with the public, including our website, Google Ads and Google Business Profile, and our social media pages, including Facebook.
This Privacy Policy is separate from, and works alongside, our Confidentiality & Data Handling Policy, which governs how we handle information collected specifically in connection with paid appraisal engagements. Where the two overlap, the Confidentiality & Data Handling Policy governs client appraisal materials and records.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following categories of information:
• Contact information you provide, such as your name, email address, and phone number, when you submit a form, request a quote, or contact us directly.
• Vehicle information you provide in connection with a potential or actual appraisal, such as VIN, mileage, and vehicle condition.
• Payment information processed through our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not directly collect or store full payment card details.
• Website usage data, such as pages visited, browser type, device type, and general location, collected automatically through cookies and analytics tools.
• Advertising data collected through Google Ads and related Google tracking technologies, used to measure ad performance and site visits.
• Social media interactions, such as messages, comments, or information you provide through our Facebook Page or other social media profiles.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
• Respond to inquiries and provide requested information about our services.
• Process appraisal orders and payments.
• Communicate with prospective and current clients.
• Maintain and improve our website and marketing efforts, including evaluating the performance of Google Ads campaigns.
• Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell client or visitor information to third parties, and we do not use client appraisal information for marketing purposes.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website may use cookies and similar tracking technologies, including those associated with Google Analytics and Google Ads, to understand how visitors use our site and to measure advertising effectiveness. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect certain website functionality. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising in a way that currently requires us to honor universal opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control, under applicable state law. If our data practices change such that this requirement applies to us, we will implement support for recognized opt-out signals.
Third-Party Services
We work with third-party service providers to operate our business, including:
• Stripe, for payment processing.
• Google, for advertising (Google Ads), analytics, and our Google Business Profile.
• Meta/Facebook, for our social media presence.
These third parties have their own privacy policies governing how they handle information, and we encourage you to review them. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party platforms.
Social Media
If you interact with us through Facebook or other social media platforms, for example by sending a message, commenting on a post, or following our page, information you share in that context is also subject to that platform's own privacy policy and terms. We may use information from these interactions to respond to inquiries or provide customer service.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with third-party service providers as described above, or when required to do so by law, court order, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of VVA, our clients, or others.
Data Breach Notification
In the event of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify affected individuals in accordance with the data breach notification law applicable to your state of residence. Because we serve clients across the United States, this means the specific timeline and notice requirements may vary depending on where you live, rather than where VVA is based. We will provide notice without unreasonable delay and in accordance with any timeframe required by the applicable law.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Appraisal records and related client information are retained consistent with our Confidentiality & Data Handling Policy.
Your Privacy Rights
VVA is based in Colorado, and our privacy practices are guided primarily by Colorado law and applicable federal law. Because we provide online appraisal services to clients throughout the United States, some obligations, such as data breach notification described above, may depend on your specific state of residence rather than our location. You may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. To make such a request, please contact us using the information below, and we will respond within the time period required by applicable law.
The Colorado Privacy Act applies in full only to businesses that meet certain thresholds, such as processing personal data of a minimum number of consumers per year or deriving revenue from the sale of personal data. VVA does not sell personal information and does not currently meet these thresholds. We nonetheless honor the rights described in this section as a matter of good practice, and will implement any additional mechanisms required by law if our data processing activities change or grow.
Colorado Residents
Under the Colorado Privacy Act, Colorado residents have the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of their personal data, and to opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. VVA does not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising in a manner that requires a universal opt-out mechanism, such as Global Privacy Control. If this changes, we will implement the required opt-out mechanisms.
Federal Law
There is currently no single comprehensive federal privacy law in the United States governing personal data generally. Instead, certain federal laws apply to specific types of communications and data practices. VVA's practices are intended to be consistent with the following:
• The FTC Act, which prohibits unfair or deceptive trade practices, including inaccurate privacy disclosures. We are committed to describing our data practices accurately in this policy and updating it if our practices change.
• The CAN-SPAM Act, which governs commercial email. Any marketing emails we send will include a functional unsubscribe mechanism, and we will honor opt-out requests promptly.
• The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), which governs calls and text messages, including those using automated dialing or prerecorded messages. We will not send automated marketing calls or texts without the consent required by this law, and will honor requests to stop contact by phone or text.
• The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), addressed separately below.
Email Communications
If we send you marketing or promotional emails, you may opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in the email or by contacting us directly. We do not sell or share email addresses with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Children's Privacy
Our services are directed to adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" above reflects the date of the most recent revision. Continued use of our website or social media pages after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
